NFL Gives Packers Until Friday Afternoon to Sell Playoff Tickets

The Green Bay Packers must sell 3,000 more tickets for Sunday's playoff game against San Francisco, in order to avoid a television blackout.

Initially, the NFL gave the team until 3:40 p.m. Thursday to sell out the game at Lambeau Field, but there were still several thousand tickets remaining.

As the deadline approached, the league granted the Packers an extension until 4:00 p.m. Friday.

If tickets remain unsold, the league will not allow local TV markets to broadcast the game. Those cities include Green Bay and Milwaukee.

The last time the Packers did not sell out a home game was in January, 1983 - a playoff game against the St. Louis Cardinals. The regular season had been shortened by a strike.
