Pastors Call For End to Gun Violence in Milwaukee
Pastors from Milwaukee's central city are banding together to form block watches, in hopes of preventing more gun violence.
Clergy members held a news conference outside Tabernacle Community Baptist Church Tuesday night.
Minister Gregory Lewis says each church in the area is going to adopt a block, and encourage neighbors to keep watch and look out for each other.
"We need to let these folks know that you can't just come around here doing whatever you want to do in these communities, and have everyone else afraid to walk our streets, sit on our porches and all those kind of things," Lewis says.
One of the latest victims of gun violence is Bill Thao. The 13-month-old boy was shot and killed while inside a relative's home on the north side last weekend.
Police say they have a promising lead, but so far, no arrests have been made.
