Get A Sneak Peek Of UWM's New Lubar Entrepreneurship Center

Tom Luljak and guests

Wisconsin has a great reputation for the quality of its workforce, with employees who are hardworking and dedicated to getting the job done right. While there are many leading companies in a wide variety of industries that employ Wisconsin workers, in recent years our state has not had a reputation as a good place to start a business. In fact, Wisconsin has consistently come in near the bottom of the lists that track entrepreneurs.

But that may be changing. This spring UW-Milwaukee will have a grand opening for the new Lubar Entrepreneurship Center, a state of the art building dedicated to helping today’s college students learn what it takes to be an entrepreneur. There is nothing quite like it in Wisconsin.

On this edition of UWM Today, we get a sneak peek at what will be inside the $10 million addition to UWM’s east side campus. Joining us on the program is Brian Thompson, president of the UWM Research Foundation and director of the LEC, and Ilya Avdeev is the director of innovation.

Tom Luljak hosted UWM Today on WUWM for more than two decades and is the inaugural host of Curious Campus.
