WUWM Programming Changes - All New, All Night
WUWM is launching a brand new lineup for our weeknight evening and Saturday programming. Evening audiences will now enjoy two new shows rather than rebroadcasts of programs. For our Saturday listeners, the schedule will be restructured so like-minded programs air back-to-back. Our goal is to keep our programming fresh, relevant and entertaining for our listeners.
Two new shows will join the WUWM lineup as part of the change, The World and To The Point with Warren Olney. Previously airing on WUWM, The World deals with the events, trends, and personal tales that connect us around the globe. Marco Werman hosts an hour of surprising angles, unexpected insights, and engaging voices to illuminate what’s going on in the world, and why it matters to you. The World will air Monday through Friday at 7 p.m.
To the Point is a unique program that gathers people from the opposite sides of the aisle — and from all over the world — in a civilized and intelligent conversation. It turns front-page news into structured panel discussions that provide listeners with new ideas and different points of view on the news of the day. While many news programs feature soundbites from experts, To the Point allows guests to listen to each other in real time and directly address the points each has made. Warren Olney guides the discussion with a deft “What do you say about that?” or a well-timed “How do you respond?” to keep the conversation fast-paced and relevant. To the Point will air Monday through Friday at 8 p.m.
Saturday morning remains one of our most-listened time slots. To capitalize on this interest, we are building consistency within the schedule. Ask Me Another has become one of the most popular programs on WUWM. We are moving it to the 11 a.m. hour so it will now follow the other popular quiz show, Wait, Wait… Don’t Tell Me. This allows us to group the other NPR programs together following the quiz shows.
