Monday on Lake Effect: Doughboy MIA, Finding Lt. Hintz, Revisitng The Capt. Lance Sijan Memorial

Monday on Lake Effect:

More than a century after the United States entered World War One, Doughboy MIA works to identify our remaining soldiers still missing in action. Then, a Milwaukee writer goes searching for the site of his dad’s fatal plane crash in World War II. We listen to an excerpt of an interview with author Jon Meacham, who wrote about the late President George H.W. Bush and how the President's experience of being shot down over the Pacific was one of the defining moments of his life. Plus we revisit the dedication of a memorial to a fallen airman from Milwaukee - Captain Lance Sijan.

Guests:

  • Robert Laplander, Doughboy MIA managing director
  • Martin Hintz, historian
  • Jon Meacham, author, Destiny and Power: The American Odyssey of George Herbert Walker Bush
  • Sijan Memorial (feature)
