How The Start of Daylight Savings Time Affects Our Bodies


Wisconsin is now observing daylight savings time. Residents of most states lost an hour of sleep when time “sprang forward” over the weekend.

The change might seem small, but research links it to increased rates of heart attacks and traffic accidents.

Dr. Alexander Villareal is a sleep medicine physician with the Sleep Wellness Institute of West Allis and Mequon. He told Lake Effect’s Amy Kiley how the start of daylight savings time affects the human body.
