Carlo Aonzo Trio Joins Milwaukee Mandolin Orchestra for Ambitious Concert

Mandolinist Carlo Aonzo, bassist Luciano Puppo, and guitarist Lorenzo Piccone.

The Milwaukee Mandolin Orchestra is the oldest fretted orchestra in the country, and possibly the world. It's perhaps no surprise then, that the group will be performing an ambitious concert which includes a first for a mondolin orchestra - the complete "Four Seasons Suite" by Antonio Vivaldi.

Part of the concert includes a performance by an Italian group, the Carlo Aonzo Trio, which recently released a new album called A Mandolin Journey. "It is our project about the mandolin that went all around the world, and influenced and got influenced by all cultures and musical genres," explains Carlo Aonzo, the namesake mandolinist.

The trio is made up of Aonzo, as well as guitarist Lorenzo Piccone and bassist Luciano Puppo. The group will perform with the Milwaukee Mandolin Orchestra at the UWM Recital Hall on campus, Sunday, October 30, at 4:00
