The Greater Milwaukee Association of REALTORS says home sales last month were up 16.4 percent.
Sales for the third quarter were up 12.7 percent, compared to last year.
The association says 1,484 homes were sold in September. Prices were mostly up. The average price of a home in Milwaukee County rose from $129,331 last year to $142,171 – an increase of 9.9 percent.
The organization predicts 2013 will end on a positive note, with total sales at levels seen in the early 2000s.
