Lawrence Goodman

Advisory Board member

Dr. Larry Goodman is a native New Yorker who moved to Milwaukee in 1983 to work at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He recently retired as emeritus professor of Radiology, Pulmonary Medicine and Intensive Care. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan, Downstate Medical Center (SUNY) and completed his medical training at Boston University and the University of California (San Francisco).

After stops in the Airforce, Washington D.C. and Philadelphia, he moved to Wisconsin. During his career, Larry authored over 200 medical articles, a bestselling text and was president of two international societies focused on diagnosing diseases of the lung.

Larry enjoys exercising, woodworking, traveling, cooking and has been brewing his own beer since moving to Milwaukee. He and his wife Hannah have two children and four grandchildren.

Larry started listening to NPR in Philadelphia in the early ‘80'. While traveling, he also enjoyed listing to WUWM from afar.

Larry says, “Without doubt, WUWM is one of the premier NPR stations in the nation.”
