Nine Milwaukee Firefighters Suspended

Milwaukee Fire Chief Mark Rohlfing is investigating whether nine firefighters should be disciplined for allegedly damaging the inside of a firehouse.

The vandalism reportedly occurred over the weekend at a north side fire station.

Fire and Police Commission Executive Director Michael Tobin says the firefighters were suspended from their jobs Tuesday.  The nine are still being paid.

Tobin says the allegations also involve other inappropriate conduct inside the firehouse.  He declined to give specifics.

Chief Rohlfing said in a statement the alleged events did not involve citizens.
