Monday Night Vigil Planned for 10-Year-Old Sierra Guyton

The third grade Milwaukee girl died early Sunday. A bullet struck her in May, while she was playing outside Clarke Street School.

Police say Sierra was with her 12-year-old sister on the playground, when she was caught in the middle of a gun fight. The younger girl was struck in the head.

An 18-year-old, Sylvester Lewis has been charged with first-degree reckless injury. He told police he knew children were on the playground, when he exchanged gunfire with with other men.

According to Alderman Russell Stamper, people will gather for a candlelight vigil and balloon release at 7:45 Monday night, at Clarke Street School. He says those who take part will remember the 10-year-old victim and call for an end gun violence.
