Ads Are Everywhere Online, But Do They Really Work?

Jason Rieve
Tom Luljak with Purush Papatla.

Advertising is everywhere online. Ads for everything: new cars, clothing, movies, food stores, banks. You name it and you’ll find someone trying to sell you something every step of the way. Although they may be ubiquitous, are all of those online ads effective?

On this edition of UWM Today, we meet an expert who studies why and how people engage with online advertising, and maybe most importantly, what makes one of those ads work when others don’t. Joining us in the studio today is Purush Papatla, professor of marketing at UWM’s Lubar School of Business. Purush was recently named co-director of the Northwestern Mutual Data Science Institute at UWM and Marquette University.

Tom Luljak hosted UWM Today on WUWM for more than two decades and is the inaugural host of Curious Campus.
