Monday on Lake Effect: Red Summer 1919, Musician Mario Quadracci, 'The Summer Guests'

Monday on Lake Effect

One hundred years ago the nation was rocked by race riots and massacres of African Americans. We discuss the events of the Red Summer of 1919 and its lasting legacy. Then, musician and composer Mario Quadracci takes it out of the basement and onto the stage at Miramar Theatre. And New York Times best-selling author Mary Alice Monroe explains what drives her writing.

Guests:

  • Reggie Jackson, head griot, America's Black Holocaust Museum
  • Mario Quadracci, musician
  • Mary Alice Monroe, author, The Summer Guests
