The latest round of Wisconsin recall elections – including the gubernatorial race - took place three weeks ago today. They’re all history now, aside from the recall recount playing out in Racine County for the state senate seat apparently won by Democrat John Lehman.
Now that some time and the instant analyses have passed, what might the lingering impacts of the recall be – both in the immediate future of politics here, and for the recall movement as a whole?
Joshua Spivak says the results might actually represent cause for optimism for President Obama’s reelection campaign. Spivak is author of the Recall Elections Blog, and a senior fellow at the Hugh Carey Institute for Government Reform at Wagner College, and he joined Mitch Teich to talk about the implications he sees for the future.
