'I'll Eat You Last': One Woman, One Living Room, Many Stories

Theater RED

Theater RED has been presenting shows on Milwaukee stages since 2013.  That’s relatively young, as far as Milwaukee theater companies go, but it’s positively a veteran group compared to the brand-new [untitled] Productions group.  The two organizations are teaming up to present a one-woman show on stage this weekend.

I’ll Eat You Last stars Theater RED’s Marcee Doherty-Elst as Sue Mengers, a show business agent to the stars and host of infamous dinner parties.  Among Mengers' biggest clients were Barbra Streisand, Faye Dunaway, Burt Reynolds, and Cher (to name a few).

"What I have in common with Sue Mengers is her drive and her loyalty. I don't share her vices or her potty mouth," jokes Doherty-Elst.

Milwaukee audiences are literally invited into the living room of Sue Mengers, which happens to be recreated at The Journeyman Hotel, for an evening of gossip and showbiz details,

Doherty-Elst is not only the star of the one-woman show, but also Theater RED’s producing director. She joins Lake Effect’s Bonnie North to explain what led to the creative partnership behind the show:
