There are still a couple of weeks left to visit the Museum of Wisconsin Art in West Bend to see the 2018 Wisconsin Biennial exhibition. The statewide competition is open to artists working in all media. The prize selections are made by an outside jury.

Mark Klassen is the grand prize winner of the 2018 Biennial. The Riverwest artist is an associate professor of art at Beloit College and the owner of The Ski Club Gallery.

Klassen submitted a piece simply called Air Conditioner.

He says his choice of subject matter is part of his larger art practice: "I’m really interested in these things that are in our world that are so pervasive that they become invisible to our consciousness."
