Panalure Expands & Evolves Sound While Recording 4th Album

About six years ago, a group of Milwaukee musicians got together to form Panalure. The band is Americana with a touch of blues and Celtic thrown in. Some of the members had played together in different configurations, but the group came together when bassist, Ken Hanson approached frontman Fred Ziegler.

"I had this idea that we should just do some Dylan covers, have a little fun and do some Dylan covers," Hanson explained. But Ziegler already had some songs he wanted to play, he just needed a band to do it with. That's how songs like Seven Eleven, Possession and Bend Me came to be. The themes of songs range from seeing a kind act on the street to the inspiration drawn from a yoga instructor.

The band is led by Fred Ziegler on lead vocals and founding member Ken Hanson on bass. The rest of the band is made up of guitarist Michael De Boer, fiddler Susan Nicholson, vocalist Kari Hoff, and percussionist Jaymes Findlayson.

Panalure will perform at Anodyne Coffee Roasters on Friday at 8 p.m.
