The Milwaukee Auto Show finished its annual run over the weekend. It was a chance for people in this area to see what’s new and different in cars coming to a dealer near you.
But the Milwaukee show does not have the same influence in the industry or with the automotive press and some others, especially the Chicago Auto Show, which ran earlier this year.
Lake Effect’s automotive contributors, Dan Harmon and Mark Savage, traveled to Chicago for that show. Savage contends that the past few years’ worth of auto shows were largely uninspiring - but that changed in 2019.
"This year, we've actually seen some new cars and trucks," Savage says. "And - yes - there are cars out here. Several people have said the car market is supposedly dead, but Volkswagen in particular was happy to tell us they had a new sedan."
