Michael Arnow

Emeritus Advisory Board Member

Mike Arnow grew up in on the north side of Chicago, and earned his undergraduate degree in accounting from Loyola and his MBA in finance at DePaul. He started his personal financial planning firm, Arnow & Associates, in 1981 in Milwaukee. “Back then, you needed to explain the term personal financial planning. It wasn’t in common usage,” he says. “My CFP® registration number was 6,063, now there are over 200,000 CFP® licensees.” The firm is now called Broadview Financial Management.

Mike retired in 2023 and also reduced his involvement with six different nonprofit organizations. Which one of those organizations provided the most satisfaction? “WUWM,” he says, “for sure.”

Mike Arnow first joined the WUWM Advisory Board in 1992, serving for 18 years with a number of those as board chair. He then rejoined the board in 2014, serving until 2023.

So, why would someone serve on WUWM’s board for 25+ years? Mike says, “To say, I’m hooked on Milwaukee’s local NPR station is an understatement. It is a critical source for comprehensive news (as unbiased as possible) and an important member of a vibrant community. I am proud to support this station with my time and treasure.”
