Karen Rhyan

Advisory Board Member

Karen Rhyan graduated from UW-Madison with a B.B.A. - Accounting in 1982. She spent approximately 10 years in public accounting and other related positions. Her roles varied from a Staff Accountant to Controller before ending as an Office Manager for an internal medicine clinic based at the old Columbia Hospital located on Milwaukee’s East Side. She later joined the Auxiliary for Milwaukee’s Florentine Opera as a board member and eventually oversaw their annual Gala fundraiser. Karen also held a board position with the John Michael Kohler Art Center and chaired their yearly Gala committee.

Her current volunteer endeavors include Past President for the Plymouth Education Foundation and soon-to-be President for the Bookworm Garden’s board, located in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Karen recently relocated to Port Washington to be closer to Milwaukee and continues to spend her free time recreating throughout Wisconsin and “Out West.” Her love of books and films keeps her engaged with various book clubs and film festivals. 

She joined the WUWM Advisory Board in 2016.
