Tuesday on Lake Effect: Black Women Firsts, Prison Gerrymandering, Driving Deaths, Summer Camps

Tuesday on Lake Effect:

Our ‘Black Women Firsts’ series wraps up with a conversation with the current artist in residence at the Pfister Hotel, the first black woman to hold the position. Then, we learn about the effects of prison gerrymandering in Wisconsin from a reporter who dove into the topic for an episode of “Reveal.” A new report looks at the disparity between black and white driving deaths in Wisconsin, plus a child psychologist gives advice on how to pick the best summer camp for kids.

Guests:

  • Rosy Petri, artist in residence at The Pfister Hotel
  • Natasha Haverty, independent journalist featured on “Reveal”
  • Mark Sommerhauser, communications director & policy researcher at the Wisconsin Policy Forum
  • Chris Lawson, associate professor of educational psychology at UW-Milwaukee
