Founder of EAA, Paul Poberezny Dies

The 91-year-old started a club for recreational aviation enthusiasts in 1953, in Milwaukee. The resulting group later settled in Oshkosh.

The Experimental Aircraft Association eventually began hosting one of the world's largest air shows and it continues, every summer. The name has changed from the EAA Fly-In to AirVenture

According to the EAA and Poberezny's family, he served as a military pilot, later summoning people together who enjoyed building and restoring airplanes. He retired from the association's daily operations in 1989 but remained involved in its annual convention.
