Colectivo Coffee Auctioning Off Alterra Signs, Donating Proceeds

Colectivo Coffee will auction off its Alterra cafe signs and letters to raise money for the Hunger Task Force.

Starting Monday, December 16 at 8:00 A.M., people will be able to own a piece of Milwaukee history. They'll be able to purchase signs that once hung in Alterra cafes and bid on larger pieces. All the signs were designed by Alterra/Colectivo artists and crafts people, many by hand.

"We thought this was a fun way to celebrate our (20 year) history with Milwaukee and help give back to a worthy cause within our community – especially this time of year," said Scott Schwebel, director of marketing at Colectivo.

The founders of the Milwaukee coffee company changed its name from Alterra to Colectivo this past summer, to mark the end of its relationship with Mars Drinks.

The auction will end Monday, December 23.
