Night Market Opens Wednesday in Downtown Milwaukee

There are lots of farmer’s markets to visit during summer, but the one debuting in a parking lot on 4th and Wisconsin offers different twists.

For instance, it'll need lights, and it'll offer more than fresh produce.

Angela Damiani is president of NEWaukee, the group hosting the new night time market.

“You can think of it as a farmer’s market, but there will also be live art performances, DJs, they’ll be a group playing magna tag and one-on-one soccer, a series of 50 different vendors and there will be a beer garden,” Damiana says.

Damiana adds that the location of the night market is also unique. The neighborhood of 4th and Wisconsin normally empties, after the work day. She says another goal is, "to create a totally unique experience downtown that’s safe and attractive for families to come and experience a part of downtown that, perhaps, they haven’t experienced at night,” Damiana says.

The market will run one Wednesday evening a month through October.
