UWM Physical Therapy Program Helps Cancer Patients

Jon Strelecki
Tom Luljak and guests

There are nearly 14 million people in the United States who are survivors of cancer. Here in the Milwaukee area, cancer patients have a new way to help them regain their strength and their confidence in resuming physical activity through a UW-Milwaukee Physical Therapy program. It’s called Cancer Care in the Community.

On this edition of UWM Today, meet one of the faculty members who is leading the initiative and two of the students who are seeing firsthand how the services they provide can help people who are dealing with a cancer diagnosis. Host Tom Luljak talks with Carlynn Alt, clinical associate professor in the College of Health Sciences, and UWM students Brittni Swanson and Luke Pan.

Tom Luljak hosted UWM Today on WUWM for more than two decades and is the inaugural host of Curious Campus.
