WUWM and Today’s TMJ4 To Broadcast First Wisconsin Democratic Gubernatorial Debate

The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee’s Mainstage Theatre will be the setting for the first broadcast debate in the 2018 race for Wisconsin governor. All eight Democratic gubernatorial candidates have agreed to participate – Tony Evers, Matt Flynn, Mike McCabe, Mahlon Mitchell, Josh Pade, Kelda Helen Roys, Paul R. Soglin, and Kathleen Vinehout.

The debate will air live on WUWM 89.7 FM - Milwaukee's NPR on Thursday, July 12 from 6-7:30 pm. TODAY’S TMJ4 (WTMJ-TV) will broadcast and WGBA-TV (Green Bay) will simulcast the first hour of the debate from 6-7 pm that night. Additional media partners for the debate include WisPolitics, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and USA Today Network.

Have a question for the candidates? Text "debate" to 414-269-6404.

WUWM’s Mitch Teich, executive producer of Lake Effect, along with TODAY’S TMJ4 news anchors Charles Benson and Shannon Sims will moderate the debate.

We want to hear from you. If you could ask the candidates a question, what would you ask? Text "debate" to 414-269-6404 to share your question. Your submission will help shape the debate.
