Ex Fabula: Perfect Storm

Art Montes
Storyteller Peter May

Can you believe it? We can’t. The last Ex Fabula StorySlamof 2016 is this Wednesday, December 14th and it has all the makings of a "Perfect Storm". If you’re a Wisconsin native, then you’re used to going to bed, then waking up to several inches of snow and 30-below temperatures - the Perfect Wisconsin Storm. Yet other situations, with no snow in sight, still have all the makings of a Perfect Storm.

Take Peter May for example. In March of 2015 Peter took the Ex Fabula stage to share an endearing story of wooing gone wrong. How does a soft-spoken, self-proclaimed romantic college junior go from clumsily flirting to stalking accusations? Listen to find out.

There are times in life when you find yourself in the eye of the storm, watching a tornado of events swirling around, with no way out. Don Tolbert, a paralegal with Legal Action of Wisconsin shared one such story during our “Equal Justice” collaboration in 2014. While serving in the volunteer lawyers project, Don answered a call from a woman who found herself in the eye of a “Perfect Storm.” His first step: to convince her that what she wanted to do, was not what she needed to do.
