Wisconsin GOP Legislators Out Raise Democrats

It appears Wisconsin's Republican lawmakers have raised a lot more cash than their Democratic counterparts, for upcoming campaigns.

According to a review by the watchdog group, Wisconsin Democracy Campaign, GOP legislators raised one million dollars, so far in 2013, compared with $411, 528 for Democrats.

When it comes to campaign cash in the bank, the report shows Republicans having an account worth $2.5 million in 2013, while Democrats have stockpiled $817,000.

Republicans have more members in the Legislature, controlling the Assembly 60-39 and the Senate, 18-15. However, the study indicates Republicans have a sizeable per capita advantage as well.

All 99 Assembly seats are up for election in 2014, so are half the Senate's seats.
