Mary Burke Easily Advances to Nov. 4 General Election

Democrat Mary Burke is officially her party’s nominee for governor.

In Tuesday's partisan primary, Burke easily defeated state Rep. Brett Hulsey, who was considered a longshot in the race.

Burke is a former Trek Bicycle executive and former state commerce secretary. She’ll take on Republican Gov. Scott Walker in the Nov. 4 election.

The Democrat says nothing about her campaign will change, now that she’s her party’s nominee. She told the Associated Press Tuesday night that her game plan will involve making sure voters get to know her and her plans for the state.
