When people suffer trauma in their lives the results can be devastating. In addition to the physical harm that often accompanies trauma related events, the emotional scars be even more long lasting — affecting a person and their families for years after trauma occurs.
On this edition of UWM Today, we learn more about a program designed to help people deal with the trauma in their lives at a time when they are experiencing another stressful activity: looking for a job. Our guest is Dimitri Topitzes, a professor in the Helen Bader School of Social Welfare at UW–Milwaukee. He is helping to lead a program called Healthy Worker, Healthy Wisconsin.
