Thursday on Lake Effect: 'The Milwaukee Anthology,' Pardeep Singh Kaleka, 'Kaukauna & King'

Thursday on Lake Effect:

Editor's note: The morning edition of Lake Effect was preempted for special NPR coverage of the release of the Mueller report.

We take a look at The Milwaukee Anthology, which features stories and poems from Milwaukee-area writers. Then, Pardeep Singh Kaleka reflects on the life of his father, who was killed in the mass shooting at the Sikh Temple in Oak Creek. Plus, how Milwaukee PBS host Joanne Williams has been chronicling a 1967 exchange between African American kids from Rufus King and white kids from Kaukauna High School for the past three years.

Guests:

  • Justin Kern, editor of The Milwaukee Anthology
  • Pardeep Singh Kaleka, Serve 2 Unite co-founder
  • Joanne Williams, Milwaukee PBS host and producer of Kaukauna & King
