WUWM Announces Ele Ellis As New Content Manager

Ele Ellis has been appointed the new content manager of WUWM 89.7 FM – Milwaukee’s NPR.

Ele Ellis has spent nearly two decades working in public radio. Prior to joining WUWM, Ellis was program director for WKSU in Kent, Ohio where she managed the sound of the station’s broadcast content. Previously she also served as program director for WNCW and Boise State Radio. In addition to her work with WKSU, she is on the board of directors for the Public Radio Programmers Association and worked as an adjunct professor at Kent State University, specializing in digital journalism.

WUWM’s content manager provides leadership and vision for the public radio station, which reaches 100,000 listeners weekly as it serves news and culture across southeastern Wisconsin. WUWM is listener-supported radio that is licensed to the University Of Wisconsin Board Of Regents and operated by the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee College of Letters and Science.

“We are so pleased to have Ele join our WUWM team,” says John Hess, general manager for WUWM. “Her experience in public radio programming is a huge asset and will help position the station for the future.”

Ele will begin her new role at WUWM on July 1, 2020.
