Milwaukee Residents Proclaim Love For Neighborhood

Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett hopes more police on the street will help counteract a recent surge in gun violence in the city.

Milwaukee will spend another half million dollars on police overtime.

Since Friday, bullets have hit at least 20 people; some have died.

Just this past weekend, concerned neighbors gathered at a community garden near 45th and North, to summon peace.

We revisited the garden Wednesday, following four more shootings in the city, to ask residents’ for their latest thoughts.  

Tina Holst, Russell Stamper and Kathy Blair Koch shared their feelings with us about their neighborhood.

It has experienced its share of Milwaukee’s recent shootings.

We met at the Uptown Community Garden of Peace near 45th and North.
