Member of Milwaukee's Theatre Community Reacts to Hamilton's Statement to VP-Elect Pence

A political musical became part of the nation's political debate over the weekend. On Friday night, Vice President-elect Mike Pence attended the Broadway performance of Hamilton.

The creative team behind Hamilton was aware that Pence would be in the audience, so it created a short speech for the actor who plays Aaron Burr, Brandon Victor Dixon, to deliver after the curtain call:

Vice President-elect Mike Pence has said he wasn't bothered by the comments, but President-elect Donald Trump reacted with a series of tweets, accusing the Hamilton cast of harassment, and demanding an apology.

WUWM’s Bonnie Petrie wondered about the response from Milwaukee's theater community.

So she asked David Cecsarini, the Artistic Director of Next Act Theater, whether he thought the cast's actions were appropriate. Here's what he had to say:
