Man Goes Deer Hunting In Wal-Mart Parking Lot
When a man in Indiana, Pa., spotted a deer in the Wal-Mart parking lot, he shot it right there. The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports he got six months' probation, even though it was, in fairness, the first day of hunting season.

Judge Strikes Down State Law Aimed at Wal-Mart
A federal judge has overturned a Maryland law that would have required Wal-Mart to spend more on employee health care. The state law would have required non-governmental employers with 10,000 or more workers to spend at least 8 percent of payroll on health care or pay the difference in taxes.

Md. Requires More Health-Care Spending for Wal-Mart
Maryland lawmakers Thursday overrode Gov. Robert Erlich's veto and approved a measure, directed at Wal-Mart, requiring a certain level of expenditure on employee health care. Unions are vowing to push for similar laws in at least 30 other states.
