Thursday on Lake Effect:
We meet an iconic figure from Milwaukee’s north side. Lester Carter, Junior – Dr. Carter – has served a neighborhood as a pharmacist for nearly 50 years. Then, the way that fashion – and one traveling fashion fair – played a role in changing societal attitudes towards racism for the better. We talk with longtime Milwaukee artist JoAnna Poehlmann at her 50 year retrospective exhibit. And we’ll have some music from two Minnesotans and a Milwaukeean.
Guests:
- Lester Carter, Carter Drugs; Barbara Miner, Milwaukee Magazine
- Camille Morgan, Milwaukee Art Museum
- JoAnna Poehlmann, artist
- Norah Rendell, Brian Miller, Randy Gosa; musicians
