Tuesday on Lake Effect: News Bureau Closures, Human Memory and Attention, Precious Lives

Tuesday on Lake Effect:

The public good we all lose from the closure of news bureaus in places around the globe and what can be done to ensure the future of independent international crisis reporting. Then, a new study explores how memory can affect attention in humans despite the fact they occur in different parts of the brain. We talk with Wisconsin’s newest poet laureate, and we’ll have the next episode in our series on children and gun violence, Precious Lives.

Guests:

  • Jon Sawyer, Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting
  • Debbie Hannula, UWM professor of psychology
  • Kimberley Blaeser, Wisconsin Poet Laureate
  • Precious Lives
