Tuesday on Lake Effect: Unlikely Survivors of the Holocaust, Policy Impact of WWII, Precious Lives

Tuesday on Lake Effect:

On today’s show, we’ll meet a Lake Geneva man whose father liberated the Mauthausen Concentration Camp in German-occupied Austria 70 years ago, saving as many as 40,000 lives. That story is featured in a new book about three unlikely survivors – babies born to camp prisoners.  Later, how World War II still shapes US foreign policy.  Plus, writer Andrea Lochen taps into the rich imagination of a child in her new novel.  And the latest installment of our series, Precious Lives introduces us to a radio host at the intersection of the media and a community in turmoil.

Guests:

  • Wendy Holden, author, Born Survivors and Larry Kosiek, son of Sgt. Albert Kosiek
  • Art Cyr, Carthage College
  • Andrea Lochen, author, Imaginary Things
  • Precious Lives
