One of the great examples of how scientific research at UW-Milwaukee contributes to economic development is found in the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences building on campus.
There, UWM faculty and students work side-by-side with scientists and engineers from Johnson Controls, which has invested millions of dollars in state of the art laboratories at UWM. The goal is to develop the next generation of batteries that will meet our ever expanding need for energy.
On this edition of UWM Today, Tom Luljak talks with one of the leading experts in renewable energy – Deyang Qu. He was recently named the Johnson Controls Endowed Professor in Energy Storage Research. It is a collaborative appointment between Johnson Controls, UW-Milwaukee and the Wisconsin Energy Institute (WEI) at UW-Madison.
