Kat Schleicher

In honor of next week’s super Season 6 Kick Off event, Ex Fabula takes a look back at the 2013 Kick Off event.

Both Cindy Grover and Dan Neiderloh are no strangers to the stage. Over the years their stories have both moved and entertained us, and their performances at the Ex Fabula Season 5 Kick Off show were no exception.

Audience favorite, Cindy Grover begins her story in the emergency room, where she worked as a primary care nurse. She shares the story of a badly burned little boy. As Cindy explains, once a patient is discharged nurses rarely see the patient again. However in this case, not only does Cindy get to see the end of the young boy’s story, but she gets to share a story of miraculous healing.

Our next story is a story of a different kind of healing. After months of feeling lethargic, Dan Neiderloh’s wife gave him an ultimatum, get help or get out. Soon after, Dan received a surprising diagnosis, which at first brought relief, followed by crushing anxiety. One day, much like Forrest Gump, Dan began to run. And he kept running until he found healing in an unexpected place.

Have you marked your calendars? We are less than a week away from the Ex Fabula Season 6 Kick Off Extravaganza at The Warehouse where National meets Water. It’ll be a night of tasty treats and tastier tales. Tune in next Wednesday as we give you a sneak preview of Thursday’s Kick Off featured storytellers!

Next week’s Kick Off event is just the beginning of an amazing season to come. Our regular season begins in October with our Ex Fabula fabulous storytelling workshops. This is your year. We’ve got the stage. You have the story.
