All year, Milwaukee singer-songwriter John Sieger has joined us in the studio for a segment called The Monthly Beatdown.
This month, he brought some special guests with him. Milwaukee’s SistaStrings are cellist Monique Ross and violinist Chauntee Ross. The Ross sisters, along with saxophonist Jay Anderson, are co-founders of the Strange Fruit music festival. The festival was created to respond to the killings of Alton Sterling and Philando Castille, and will take place August 12–14th at Company Brewing.
The sisters were in studio to play an original song by Sieger, called Don't Throw Shade.
