Waukesha Judges Tosses Out Challenge to Wisconsin Ballot

GAB

Two GOP legislators had filed a lawsuit against the Government Accountability Board, claiming its new ballot design is confusing and benefits Democrats.

Assembly Speaker Robin Vos and Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald wanted the GAB to redesign the Nov. 4 ballot

On Wednesday, Waukesha County Circuit Judge James Kieffer dismissed the suit. He says state law requires people to file such complaints first, with the Government Accountability Board.

The judge did not comment on the merits of the complaint.

Several clerks in Wisconsin have altered the new ballot. It contains the title of the office and the Democratic candidate in the same box. Lines then separate the candidates from each other.

State ballots list the Democratic candidates first this election, because of the results of the last election.
