Early sketchings

MATC baking and pastry students have been building gingerbread houses. Those judged best win scholarship money.

We saw, during construction, that the competition tests the bakers' creativity and patience, not to mention steady hands.

The creations will be on display at Milwaukee Public Market from Dec. 6 through Dec. 17.
