Based on multiple videos from social media, WUWM constructed a timeline of events during the shootings that took place on Sheridan Road in Kenosha Tuesday evening.
Kristian T. Harris, co-owner of The Rundown Live, a conservative online platform, starts a Facebook live feed. He’s positioned at the corner of 59th Street and Sheridan Road in Kenosha. According to Harris’s video, armed individuals are standing on top of the Car Source building, a used car dealership.

Armed individuals say they are not militia but patriots protecting their business. It is unclear who is the owner of this business.

Kenosha County Sheriff's Department personnel say to armed individuals, “Thank you for your cooperation. We understand what you are doing. Thank you.”

Law enforcement officials tell a group of citizens who appear to be protesters to go home: “Don’t advance any further. I don’t care if your hands are up, get out of there. Go home and be safe.” Meanwhile, right across the street, armed individuals are still standing guard at the dealership. One of the men with a gun walks up to the armored vehicle and commends the police. “You guys are doing a damn good job. I appreciate you guys. Thank you,” the individual says.

"You need water? Seriously, you guys need water?” Law enforcement officials ask, emerging from the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department’s bearcat to hand out water to the armed individuals. The suspect in Wednesday evening’s shooting, 17-year-old Kyle Rittenhouse, is among the men openly carrying guns.
A person is shot in the head at the car dealership. It is unclear who the shooter is, but an armed individual, allegedly Rittenhouse, runs away from a shooting victim and is heard saying, “I just killed somebody.”
Minutes later that same individual is seen running down Sheridan Road as others pursue him saying he shot someone. He trips and there is a scuffle. He begins to fire into the crowd.

The shooter then walks toward police armored vehicles with hands in the air. People are shouting, “He just shot someone.” Armored Vehicles drive right past gunman whose hands are in the air.
