Protesters Settle in for a Second Night at the Capitol

For the second day in a row Wednesday, thousands of people converged on the state Capitol, many of them upset with Gov. Walker’s proposal to eliminate most collective bargaining rights for public workers.

The measure is part of Walker’s budget repair bill, which he says is needed to close a major deficit. Walker and those who support his plan say public employees must share the burden of fixing the state’s budget problems.

Public employees are among those outraged by the proposal.
