Wisconsin U.S. Sen. Tammy Baldwin says she would say "yes" to Joe Biden if the expected Democratic presidential nominee asked her to be his vice-presidential running mate. Baldwin will seemingly have clout during the campaign, whether she's on the ticket or not.
Former Vice President Biden has promised to choose a female running mate, and some media outlets continue to put Baldwin on the list of potentials.
"If Vice President Biden were to ask me to be his running mate, I would surely say yes. But really, my biggest focus is making sure that Joe Biden becomes the next president of the United States. We know the path to the White House goes right through Wisconsin," Baldwin told WUWM Thursday.
Baldwin gave a similar answer Thursday when asked about her nomination chances on ABC's The View.

Biden will at least have two of Baldwin's 2018 campaign leaders running his Wisconsin election operation. Baldwin says she hopes Biden will look at how she won reelection two years ago and focus on so-called kitchen-table issues, including health care.
"And boy, I can tell you that health care issue only is more emphatically embraced by Wisconsin voters in the middle of a pandemic,” Baldwin said.
Numerous articles and stories this week are looking closely at Biden's potential choices for vice president, including several women of color. He's not expected to announce a name until early August.
