On That Note: The Process of Finding the Perfect Instrument

Christine Lalla

Every month, Lake Effect's Bonnie North chats about music with internationally renowned cellist Robert Cohen.

Cohen is an award-winning recording artist, conductor, artistic director and cellist for the Fine Arts Quartet

This month's On That Note chat focuses on choosing the most important tool of his trade. Cohen says choosing the perfect instrument is almost like love at first sight.

"You fall in love, it's really, really dangerous," he says. "You play this instrument and suddenly you think 'oh my goodness' I can express myself in ways I never felt before. It's literally like, love at first sight."
