Lauri Jones
Operations Director, Here & Now Host & Interim Program DirectorLauri is WUWM's operations director and Here & Now host. She joined WUWM in November 2017 as an announcer.
As a freshman majoring in broadcast communications at Marquette University, she thought she wanted to work in TV until she realized she didn’t like lighting sets. So a walk across the hall to Marquette’s radio station began a radio career that has spanned 25+ years.
Prior to joining WUWM, Lauri worked exclusively at music radio stations including Jammin’ 98.3, V100.7 and FM106 in Milwaukee, along with the now defunct Smooth Jazz 106.9 and Big Buck Country 106.9. She has also worked in Cincinnati and Minneapolis. Her positions have included DJ, music director, assistant program director, program director and brand manager.
In her spare time, he enjoys exploring the Schlitz Audubon Nature Center, visiting the Milwaukee Art Museum, attending live theater performances (especially the Milwaukee Ballet) and coming up with excuses to avoid housework so she can binge-watch TV.
