Milwaukee Music Roundup: November 2019

(From left) The November 2019 Milwaukee Music Roundup includes music from Wavy V, Nepenthe, Warhola Cats, and Platinum Boys.

Matt Wild is one of the co-founders of Milwaukee Record, which he and the other co-founder, Tyler Maas, describe as an online source for music, culture, and gentle sarcasm. Among the many cultural things Milwaukee Record keeps track of is a nearly exhaustive list of new music from local musicians.

Here's a selection from Matt's Milwaukee Music Roundup for November 2019:

Wavy V
"The Fools Have Gone To Bed"

“Feels like you’re dancing through a flowerbed listening to this music. It’s delightful.”

Nepenthe
"Lonely World"

“Nepenthe describes himself as 'ethereal folk jazz about dreams, death and things that haunt us' and that seems like a fine enough summation. It’s a lovely song that popped up in recent weeks for me. Really glad to be introduced to this.”

Warhola Cats
"Endless Loop"

“A lot of these songs remind me of Sufjan Stevens — it’s this very clear-eyed lyrical pop. This one has a little bit of bite to it.”

Platinum Boys
"Darlin"

“Just out to have a good time. They are Milwaukee’s premier party purveyors. What I like about them is that they don’t do it ironically, there’s not a lot of winking here. ”

Bonnie North
Bonnie joined WUWM in March 2006 as the Arts Producer of the locally produced weekday magazine program Lake Effect.
Trapper Schoepp
Trapper Schoepp became Lake Effect's assistant producer in August 2019.
