What does it take to make it into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Museum? Well, not being to base it off of any sort of personal experience, the next best thing would be to look at the career of a band that made it right? Better yet, a band from the great Midwest that has been creating music since the early 1980’s. Rock band, the BoDeans beautifully meet all of this criteria and would likely tell you that one of the biggest keys to making it into the holy grail of rock history is perseverance and the inability to stop doing what you do best.
Their 12th studio album, aptly titled, I Cant Stop, proves that the well-traveled band members still have the passion and ability that they had three decades earlier. The new album finds the return of the legendary drummer, Kenney Aronoff and brings together the energized anthemic sounds of guitar and drums and also explores exciting new sound-territory for the band. On album opener, ‘Slave’, the tone is dark, brooding and pumped-up; exploring the grasp that Rock and Roll music often has on its artists.
The new album is slated for an April 21st release and will be released amidst a slew of tour dates for a country-wide tour that the band is currently on. The band will be making its way back to the Midwestern states later this summer in June. Until then, make sure as usual, that your radio stays tuned to 89.7 as we will give you a little taste of what to expect from the new album by playing a couple tracks this week.
